2026 Featured Artist

We are excited to feature Chicago-based artist Hiroshi Ariyama as our 2026 Featured Artist.

Hiroshi Ariyama has been a part of the Wells
Street Art Festival for 10 years and we are
proudto feature his artwork "Elevated III" on
the poster for the 2026 Wells Street Art Festival!

Ariyama's prints capture scenes that many
Chicagoans will find relatable or nostalgic.
Viewers less familiar with the sights of Chicago
will appreciate the window into moments in
time across various neighborhoods and
seasons in Chicago.

Screenprinting allows Ariyama to apply different
color schemes to a scene creating different moods
and versions of a scene.

Of his medium of choice, Ariyama says, "Screenprinting allows me to reduce the idea to its simplest form or to be as detailed and complex as I want. The repetitive nature of printmaking gives me a chance to experiment, adjust, and sometimes encounter those happy accidents that are all part of making art."
